King of Football. National Treasure. Global Icon. Athlete of the Century. Hero.Close
Football is the world's pre-eminent sport and Pelé remains the only player today to have won three World Cups during his professional career.
His journey as a legend started in 1956 when he joined Santos Futebol Clube, a club he stayed with for nearly two decades.
In 1958, at the age of 17, he gave Brazil its first World Cup as the youngest world champion ever and put his beloved country on the map. He followed up in 1962 and 1970 with two more Jules Rimet trophies.
Not only is Pelé the all-time leading scorer of Santos FC and the Brazil National Team, he is also the all-time leading scorer in the history of the sport - a sport that dates back to the mid-1800's.
Using his passion for football and the youth, Pelé keeps inspiring his fans and the future generation through his various roles as spokesperson, ambassador and philanthropist.
"This is an immense privilege and it fills us with great pride to have been chosen by King Pelé !
When Pelé came to see us in Switzerland at the Manufacture Hublot last year, we immediately clicked. His energy, his enthusiasm for the next World Cup and his country's role in it was simply amazing.
We look forward to doing great things together in Brazil!", jointly stated by Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot and Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot.
"It is an honor for me to represent Hublot, a brand that stands for innovation and watchmaking tradiation.
They share my same commitment to the sport of football.
In addition, we put a tremendous amount of passion towards charity work. I look forward to being involved with Hublot's many initiatives throughout the world, and of course, to partner with them for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in my country, Brazil."
