Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot opened the Hublot Galerie, the brand’s 11th freestanding boutique in the United States. With this opening, the brand is unveiling a completely new retail concept in the high-end arty vibe of the new ultra-cool Miami Design District, once again marking Hublot's fantastic expansion into all of the important luxury shopping areas across the world.

Hublot will combine the Art of Fusion and its love of art and luxury into its newest U.S. boutique with the opening of the Hublot Galerie. This location will be the first Hublot boutique to carry only the most exclusive limited-edition and high complication pieces from around the globe, some of which have never before been seen in the U.S. The Design District’s boutique will also introduce its Hublot Galerie Collector’s Club, which will bring collectors and aficionados together into the intimate world of Hublot luxury.

Today, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe hosted a Grand Opening Event, during which Hublot unveiled a uniquely designed installation from Paris-born artist, Mr. Brainwash. To kick-off the event, Brand Ambassador Usain Bolt led a group of local children in a special sprint race along a track in front of the boutique to support the Usain Bolt Foundation. As Usain and the children, all adorned in Hublot-branded gear, approached the boutique doors, they busted through a ribbon, and guests were then invited into the boutique to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while browsing the new space and the collection of limited-edition timepieces. Also on display during the event was a one-of-a-kind Big Bang Unico timepiece and watch box designed by Mr. Brainwash himself - unveiled at the Bal Harbour Boutique the night before – an expression of art inspired by Mr. Brainwash’s famed Mona Lisa painting. The single timepiece and matching box reflect Mr. Brainwash’s artistic interpretation of an Hublot watch.

Mr. Brainwash is known for being the artist behind Madonna’s “Celebration” album cover, as well as his work with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. He has directed the video for David Guetta and Nicky Romero’s “Metropolis,” and is the star of Banksy’s celebrated film “Exit Through the Gift Shop.” Known for his unique and groundbreaking style, Mr. Brainwash is one of the leading artists of his generation, helping to bring the alternative Street Art Movement to the masses

The children participating in today's race with Usain Bolt are local youth benefiting from the great work of the Irie foundation. Started by Miami music sensation, DJ Irie, the foundation serves to enhance the lives of South Florida youth through education and extracurricular programs with the ultimate goal of improving the graduation rate.

Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot CEO, said: "We believe that the Design District is the future of Miami. With its al fresco shopping mall and restaurants, it has become the coolest place to be. The Design District is very arty with its many galleries and Pop Art vibe. We therefore wanted to take inspiration from this and create a boutique with a new gallery-inspired design.”

With Hublot boutiques in Bal Harbour, Boca Raton and Palm Beach, this is the 4th boutique in Florida and the eleventh Hublot boutique in the United States. Miami, internationally known as one of the top districts for luxury shopping, draws shoppers not only from North America, but also from South America, Russia and the rest of Europe.

A new concept specially developed for the Miami Design District

As an ambassador for Swiss heritage throughout the world, Hublot has chosen to defend and promote Swiss values in general, which is exemplified throughout the boutique’s décor and atmosphere. Not only has the interior design of the Hublot Galerie been created using a unique and highly innovative concept, the boutique will also be exclusively offering limited editions, those timepieces which are particularly sought after by collectors.

The boutique interior reflects a natural and raw atmosphere with wooden embellishments, inspired by the Swiss mountains. It is equipped with comfortable club chairs in a soft tan-colored leather, and its direct and indirect lighting reveals a modern interpretation inspired by industrial beams. Spanning over 60 m², the space is a fusion between premium materials and the cool "arty" feel of the district, completed by Hublot's famous and iconic Pop Art canvases which bring a modern twist to the brand's key models. A brand new lighting concept has also been installed for the display cases, using focused beams of light to highlight the watches, movements and precious stones. The whole ambience is one of warmth and softness in natural shades of brown and dark red.

Hublot is a watch manufacture deeply committed to Swiss values, Swiss tradition and Swiss quality. In designing this new boutique concept, the brand took its inspiration from its long Swiss watchmaking history, dating back to a time when watchmakers were originally peasant farmers. The design here is unique and original, an expression of the brand's desire to go back to its roots, connecting the watchmaking of the past with that of the present day.
