Hublot Celebrates 10 Years Of Big Bang With The Launch Of Its New Flagship Boutique in The Dubai Mall!

Hublot opens a second boutique in Dubai, in the presence of Jean-Claude Biver, Chairman of Hublot and President of the LVMH Watch Division, Hublot Regional Director Middle East & Africa Marco Tedeschi and members of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons.  

The tenth year of Hublot's Big Bang collection has recently been celebrated with several activities and new launches, the most recent being the grand opening of a 10th boutique in the Middle East, in the region’s largest and most visited shopping destination, The Dubai Mall.

On April 28, esteemed guests, collectors and press members joined Chairman of Hublot Jean-Claude Biver, Middle East & Africa Director Marco Tedeschi, and Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons Vice Chairman Abdulhamied Ahmed Seddiqi and Senior Vice President of Sales and Retail Mohammed Abdulmagied Seddiqi to discover the new boutique and Big Bang pieces from the past decade. Arab Superstar Ragheb Alama was also present for the celebration as a special guest of Hublot.

“We are confident that the brand will grow even stronger with this new location and with the collaboration of our long-standing partners and friends from Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons,” said Jean-Claude Biver. “The UAE constitutes Hublot’s largest market in the Middle East and it is necessary that we have a presence in the world’s largest mall, with the most beautiful Hublot boutique which incidentally, also boasts the highest ceiling among all our stores,” confirmed Marco Tedeschi.

The event took place at the center of the Grand Atrium where visuals depicting Big Bang pieces where exhibited for the first time worldwide, then moved to the boutique which was unveiled from underneath a “Hublot Loves Dubai” inspired covering, to the tunes of the Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love”. The evening was highlighted by the exciting musical performance of international DJ and producer Pierre Ravan, and live calligraphy of the Arabic “Hublot Loves Dubai” logo by famous calligrapher Wissam Shawkat. The presence of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum reinforced the special bond between Hublot and Dubai.

“We are proud to follow the success of Hublot at Mall Of The Emirates with this new boutique in The Dubai Mall,” shared Abdulhamied Ahmed Seddiqi, adding: “Demand on Hublot watches from both local customers and tourists is constantly growing, and we trust it will be met thoroughly.”

The brand’s famous “Art of Fusion” resonates through the new boutique in Dubai Mall’s Grand Atrium through the fusion of different materials and styles basking in a warm, welcoming ambiance. Contemporary reinterpretations of 16th-century mouldings, silver brushed oak floors and upholstered walls covered in silk-fabric, interspersed with black wood and chrome steel details complement the Italian hand-made contemporary furnishing, enhancing the lavish feel of the surroundings and matching the exquisite timepieces.

Of Swiss-Italian origins, Marco Tedeschi was born on April 29, 1985, in Geneva- Switzerland where he grew up and attended school in a region labeled as a cradle of Swiss watchmaking. As a child, he went to his father’s jewellery store every Saturday to admire the watches of the biggest Swiss brands, seeking to understand how their mechanical movements work.

In 2001, he enrolled at the Technical School of the Vallée de Joux (ETVJ) to train as a microtechnology draftsman, specializing in watchmaking, and acquiring technical professional maturity in the process. Marco spent most of his vacations interning at Franck Muller, where he went through all departments in order to learn the tricks of the trade. In 2004, he received both degrees with honors and entered the Engineering School of Geneva, where he graduated at the age of 22, with a bachelor’s degree in microtechnical, design and surface engineering.

In 2006, it was a meeting with Jean-Claude Biver, crucial turning-point for his future, that encouraged him to join Hublot. Marco submitted a project to Biver on an innovative movement he had developed in his spare time while attending engineering school. Satisfied by the young man’s notable accomplishment, Jean-Claude Biver asked Marco to join Hublot beginning 2007 while he was still in engineering school, and appointed him Product Manager. As part of his duties, Marco Tedeschi was in charge of watch design, technical studies, prototyping and production. He also handled product interface with the various departments: production, after-sales service, retail, marketing and sales, as well as the legal department. He was also responsible for the management of Hublot’s technical office and contributed to the creation of new product lines such as the Classic Fusion and the King Power, as well as the development of the Unico movement. He also represented the brand in some emerging markets such as Latin America and the Middle East.

In May 2011, Marco was named Head of the Middle East and Africa markets, in charge of implementing and developing the brand strategy in this very promising area. He set a marketing strategy tailored specifically for the Arab world by organizing exclusive events and creating the first social media accounts for a luxury watch brand. He also expanded the network of Hublot boutiques in those regions while always choosing the most prestigious locations.

In addition to his regional responsibilities, Marco is the brand’s Creative Manager. As a member of the product creation committee, he collaborates closely with Jean-Claude Biver, LVMH Group-President of the Watches Division and Hublot-Chairman of the board, and CEO of Hublot Ricardo Guadalupe on new product designs and setting new trends; his market presence is an important asset on the creative side. He is also responsible for the management of special projects related to brand partnerships.
