Pop Icon Unveils Exclusive Art Exhibit at Hublot Galerie to Support Best Buddies International.

Hublot, the luxury Swiss watch brand, partnered with iconic Brazilian pop artist, Romero Britto, to host an exclusive art installation and charity event tonight at the Hublot Galerie boutique in Miami’s Design District. Known for his vibrant artwork and ongoing partnership with Hublot, Britto unveiled his one-of-a-kind mixed media artwork, which will be on display here the next two weeks. Guests browsed the installation curated by the artist, while enjoying cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. A portion of the night’s proceeds will be donated by Hublot and Britto to Best Buddies International, a global nonprofit organization that creates friendship, leadership development and employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with which Hublot began a partnership this year. Guests were also offered the opportunity to tour Britto’s private studio with the purchase of an art piece.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ marked the start of the partnership between these worlds of Art and luxury timekeeping. Britto, the Cup’s ambassador, designed and painted the multicolored football-inspired watch case for Hublot, the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch of the Cup. This motif was extended to the “Hublot Loves Football Campaign”, a football-fueled photographic exhibition, which toured globally.

This year, Hublot launched two timepieces with the Pop Art icon – the limited edition Classic Fusion Enamel Britto, available in platinum or ceramic versions, and the one-of-a-kind Classic Fusion Only Watch Britto, available in black ceramic. Both timepieces combine the traditional fine art of hand enameling with the contemporary pop art and cubism style for which the artist is known.

Globally recognized as an artist, painter and sculptor, Britto’s work is influenced by the Pop Art and Cubism art movements. His art style combines elements of graffiti, pop art and cubism, as the renowned artist embraces bold patterns and colors to visually express happiness.

Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe shared: “Hublot is proud to support iconic artist Romero Britto to unveil a truly unique showcase of his artwork and to give back to the incredible Best Buddies foundation. As a luxury brand that strives to be unique and innovative, we feel honored to be part of the art community in Miami. It is through our partnership with the esteemed artist Romero Britto that brings our core value of the Art of Fusion to life and allows Hublot to share our dedication to art and watchmaking.”

The work of this Brazilian artist, painter and sculptor is influenced by the Pop Art and Cubism art movements. His iconic style makes reference to a joyful, brightly colored universe of patterns which are infinite in their combination and variation. Now working in the Coconut Grove district in Miami, he has been collaborating with Hublot since the Brazilian World Cup, for which he created the iconic multicolored football.
