To commemorate Bruce Lee’s 75th birth anniversary and pay homage to one of the most influential superstars in our era, Hublot and the Bruce Lee Foundation jointly hosted the “Legend Never Dies: Bruce Lee 75th Anniversary Charity Auction Dinner” on 28 November at Sky100, following the memorial exhibition of the same title staged at Gateway Arcade in Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui. Items sold at the auction included a selection of Bruce Lee’s precious mementos, as well as the Bruce Lee Limited xhibition of the same title ndsTsui, s in our era, ationEdition Number 1 watch, the latest addition to Hublot’s Spirit of Big Bang series. All proceeds would go to the Bruce Lee Foundation, established by Bruce Lee’s widow Mrs. Linda Lee and daughter Ms. Shannon Lee, in support of the passing on of the maestro’s spiritual legacy

The auction dinner gathered enthusiastic supporters of both Hublot and Bruce Lee at the towering Sky100, where guests had a great time socializing and admiring the auction items on display before the actual bidding. Attending guests included officials from Hublot, Mrs. Linda Lee, Ms. Shannon Lee, renowned kung fu star Mr. Donnie Yen, celebrities Mr. Andy On, Mr. Carl Ng, Ms. Ankie Beilke, and Ms. Rose Chan, making an animated and glamour scene.

Mr. Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot, commenced the dinner with his opening speech, followed by Ms. Shannon Lee’s sharing and words of gratitude for the supporting guests. Mr. Guadalupe also took the chance to introduce the Spirit of Big Bang Bruce Lee Limited Edition watch, which was created to celebrate Bruce Lee’s 75th birth anniversary and listed as one of the auction items for the night. After that he was joined by Mrs. Linda Lee, Ms. Shannon Lee and Mr. Donnie Yen for a toasting ceremony. As the dinner began, renowned artist Mr. Matteo Charles was invited on stage to create a portrait of Bruce Lee in front of the guests. The painting was later paired with a Bruce Lee limited edition pen donated from Ms. Shannon Lee’s personal collection, making the first set of auction items for the night. This also marked the official start of the auction, hosted by well-known auctioneer Miss Jin Ling.

The bidding soon developed into a heated rivalry, especially for the Spirit of Big Bang Bruce Lee Limited Edition watch that pays tribute to the kung fu master. After multiple rounds of bidding, the watch was eventually sold at HK$270,000. In the end all the auction items raised a total of HK$440,000 for the Bruce Lee Foundation.

Following the exciting auction was a martial art performance by kids dressed in Bruce Lee’s classic yellow and black. Then the guests were surprised and amazed by a video of a virtual fight between Bruce Lee and Donnie Yen, created with CG techniques. Being a fan of Bruce Lee, Donnie then gave a sharing on stage about how he has been inspired and influenced by the kung fu master, esteeming his idol in reverence and remembrance.

The event was concluded as Mr. Guadalupe presented a cheque to Mrs. Linda Lee and Ms. Shannon Lee, receiving the donation on behalf of the Bruce Lee Foundation.

Ms. Shannon Lee, daughter of Bruce Lee and founder of the Bruce Lee Foundation, said, “I just wanted to thank Hublot for their support of my father and his legacy, such as by creating a watch to honour him and organizing exhibition and charity auction.
