Kilde once again proved it this weekend by finally beginning his World Cup season in the Dolomites at Val Gardena Gröden after an unusual start with canceled races; he is finally back on the slopes.

What a kick-off for Kilde’s 2023/2024 season, as he powered through the challenging Saslong course, literally flying over the Camel Humps jump and leaving the competition behind.

Aleksander has thus maintained his unbeatable Val Gardena track record of seven podium finishes over six seasons since 2019, including five wins in both downhill and super-G.

The Reigning World Cup Downhill Champion perfectly managed his timing that remained unmatched and thus achieving: 2 podium finishes over the weekend.

The IronMan of Downhill knows how to work hard

A two-time Olympic medalist, Aleksander has a “simple” goal: be the best, coolest and happiest skier. From winning the Super-G World Cup in 2016 as the youngest skier to his recent triumphs, Aleksander's journey is a testament to resilience and excellence. His consistency in the 2019-2020 season positioned him as Marcel Hirscher's successor in the overall World Cup standings. Despite only one victory in the COVID-19-truncated season, he secured the trophy. Injuries interrupted his quest for the big globe in 2020-2021, but he returned in 2021-2022 with seven World Cup victories, two Olympic medals, along with small globes in Super-G and downhill. His 2022-2023 season mirrored the same success, with six downhill wins, another small globe, as well as his first two silver medals at the World Championships in Courchevel-Méribel. He also became the second male skier in 45 years to achieve six downhill victories in a season.

Competing against the world’s top athletes makes him keep pushing to do his outmost. At the end of the 2022-2023 season, for the second consecutive year, Norway’s 30-year-old Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, proved himself the world’s best male downhill racer.
