Materials Rubber In 1980, Hublot revolutionized watchmaking by combining an 18K gold case with a rubber strap, creating for the first time a new type of watch. This daring alliance established the first expression of the “Art of Fusion” which has become the Manufacture’s sign of recognition. Since then, rubber has emerged as one of Hublot’s flagship materials and an emblem of its modern approach to watchmaking. Learn more
Materials Sapphire In search of the perfect fusion between movement and case, Hublot engineers and chemists have researched and developed a transparent material which reveals the heart of the watch, all while being robust enough to effectively protect the mechanism. That’s how the Manufacture has become the expert of synthetic sapphire, a material from which it derives its aesthetic qualities that are unique within watchmaking – transforming each watch into a work of art. Materials Magic Gold Scratch-proof gold had never existed before, so Hublot invented it. Developed and patented by the Manufacture, Magic Gold is the first and only 18K gold alloy in the world that perfectly withstands scratches, even with an extremely active lifestyle. It maintains its beauty, shine and polished appearance over time. A true revolution in the world of precious materials. Learn more
Materials Ceramic For Hublot, materials are an integral part of their watches’ design. They must complement their design, while protecting their mechanism and withstand the test of time. As such, the Manufacture has chosen to use high-tech ceramic for certain bezels and cases; it is an ultra-tough and almost entirely scratch-proof material (apart from the diamond) with a base of zirconium sintered at very high temperatures. Movements Unico - OLD By developing its own automatic chronograph movement, Hublot wanted it to be – like all of its creations – the first, different and unique. As the soul of the watch, this movement with an “open heart” reveals its completely re-imagined design, with double coupling system and column-wheel from the dial side. Its construction of 330 components has been simplified as much as possible to improve reliability and robustness. Learn more
