15 October 2024 SPIRIT OF BIG BANG TITANIUM GREEN CARBON MEXICO: A SERIOUSLY SHARP MODEL At the SIAR trade fair in Mexico City, Hublot has unveiled a new Spirit of Big Bang in titanium and carbon with a strap made from cactus fibre. It grows, constantly regenerates and multiplies, but never assumes the same form twice. What is true of nature, is also true of the Hublot Manufacture. And the new Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon is living proof of that. With this limited edition of just 35 pieces, Hublot combines its spirit of innovation with an unprecedented sense of eco-responsibility. The Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon, unveiled at SIAR in Mexico, embodies what Hublot does best: inventing, pushing back boundaries and driving watchmaking forwards. The Art of Fusion taken to a new level. The name of the piece illustrates this ethos. The Spirit of Big Bang collection is based, as its name suggests, on the signatures of the Big Bang (bezel, pushers, strap, indexes, hands, skeleton dial, etc.), but in a tonneau-shaped case. It is one of the three fundamental forms of the Manufacture's aesthetic grammar: Big Bang (round), Spirit of Big Bang (tonneau) and Square (square). Materials that differ wildly come together naturally in an explosive cocktail. The titanium case is complemented by a carbon bezel. These two share some highly sought-after watchmaking properties, such as ultra-lightness, maximum resistance to shocks and scratches and, above all, non-magnetism, which ensures that the movement is fully resistant to nearby magnetic fields. They also share a common aesthetic, with an exotic green colour – vibrant yet soft – that permeates the heart of the Frosted Carbon developed by Hublot. This exotic green could well have another name: cactus green. The unusual colour is used on the counters, bezel, hands and, most prominently, the strap of the Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon. The strap is made from real cactus, a plant native to Mexico where the piece was unveiled. Hublot made the choice for several reasons. Firstly: to remain unique, first and different. The Manufacture's motto is reflected in every detail of its creations, and the strap is no exception. Secondly: the cactus is probably the plant that consumes the least water on Earth. This applies to the species in general, but even more so to the variety used in this case: Cactus Nopal. It is commonly known in English as the prickly pear. This variety is inextricably linked to Mexico, which roots this Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon even more firmly in its native land. The naturally frugal nature of this cactus makes it a model of eco-responsibility. Through this choice, Hublot demonstrates that innovation and environmental protection can go hand in hand. And thirdly: This unique strap has passed all the tests for tensile strength, torsion, scratches and wear in wet conditions. In a word, the reliability that Hublot imposes on all its products. “45 years ago, we subverted the codes of traditional watchmaking with a luxury Swiss Made watch with a gold case and a rubber strap, something that had never been done before. This Spirit of Big Bang Titanium Green Carbon reconnects us to our roots. It does this once again in a way that is both powerful and consistent with our history. Rubber was a natural raw material, and so is cactus. And there are even more innovations to come from what nature has to offer! ” JULIEN TORNARE HUBLOT CEO In terms of the movement, Hublot has opted for its HUB4700. This tried and tested calibre already features on most of the Spirit of Big Bang models. This tricompax chronograph has a high frequency rate of 5 Hz, i.e. 36,000 vibrations per hour, giving it an accuracy of 1/10th of a second. The entire mechanism is revealed on both the dial and case-back sides. It features a 50-hour "weekend proof" power reserve and a date disc in a window at 4:30. LATEST NEWS SQUARE BANG TOURBILLON 4-DAY POWER RESERVE: THE SQUARE BANG ADDS A WHOLE NEW DIMENSION TO THE TOURBILLON Nyon, Switzerland, 22nd of May 2025 - Why are watches round? Because their most basic component – the wheel – is round. It's as simple as that. Perhaps too simple for Hublot, though, who was certainly not going to build the future of Haute Horlogerie on conventions from the past. learn more HUBLOT REINVENTS ITS MP-10 TOURBILLON WITH TWO NEW CASES IN SAPPHIRE AND BLACK CERAMIC Nyon, Switzerland, 7th May 2025 - Three years. This is how long it has taken to construct and deliver the first 50 pieces of the original MP-10 Tourbillon. Three years in which this veritable watchmaking UFO has remained not only unsurpassed, but unrivalled. And with good reason: with no dial, no hands, and not even an oscillating weight, the piece boasts a roller display, a circular power reserve, and regulation via a tourbillon inclined at 35° with automatic winding by two linear weights. More than a watch, it is a manifesto which fuses the past, present and future of Haute Horology in a single piece: first, unique and different. learn more KEEP ME UPDATED I want to stay up to date with the latest Hublot news. sign up
