17 October 2023 ¡VIVA MÉXICO! HUBLOT REVEALS ITS HOMAGE TO MEXICO : BIG BANG UNICO TITANIUM GREEN CERAMIC Unveiled exclusively at SIAR, the new Big Bang Unico Titanium Green Ceramic takes on the colour of the cactus, the iconic Mexican desert plant. For the first time, the rubber strap is covered with a layer made from the iconic Mexican plant. Unique, technical and innovative, in a limited edition of just 50 pieces. “"Mexico is a very important market for Hublot. Its collectors are very receptive to our spirit of innovation. It is a country that loves Hublot, and this Big Bang is our testimony to that friendship and loyalty. Following on from the Classic Fusion Maya, we present a new edition inspired by this iconic plant of the Mexican deserts that evokes agave, tequila and Mexico!" ” Ricardo Guadalupe HUBLOT CEO From Mexico City to the country as a whole, Mexico has long been one of the brightest stars in the Hublot universe, with a deep enthusiasm and affection for the brand. This new Big Bang created especially for SIAR (Salón Internacional Alta Relojería), to be held in Mexico City from 17–19 October 2023, is a genuine homage to Mexico, from case to bracelet! The dedication is twofold. For once, it is the strap that distinguishes this piece: Its rubber core is covered with a second skin of cactus. A first for Hublot and – in all likelihood – for the watchmaking sector as a whole. A development that just had to be unveiled in Mexico, the iconic land of the cactus. Why? Because the world is facing significant damage to its ecosystems. Better harmonisation of flora and fauna is required. Plant-based straps are an alternative to leather straps. The cactus strap of the new Big Bang Unico Titanium Green Ceramic is one such alternative. Its durability, colour and performance are equivalent to those of leather, but it is almost infinitely renewable, 100% natural, produced without chemicals and fully traceable. Its use is in line with Hublot's desire to present a unique and different first project at SIAR. But there's more to it than that: Cactus skin is non-allergenic, almost scratch-resistant, offers a wide range of finishes and colours and is very soft to the touch. It can be cultivated with almost no water and dyed entirely using organic dyes. These qualities confirm its suitability for watchmaking, as part of an innovative as well as responsible approach. But this is not the only nod to Mexico. The piece, dressed in a deep, uniform green, is also inspired by the national flag, whose first green stripe represents the nation's spirit of independence. An image that is symbolic, powerful and full of history. An independence fully shared by the Hublot Manufacture, whose raison d'être lies above all in innovation and disruption. Hublot has combined different fields of expertise to create this uniform green. The bezel features a coloured ceramic that matches the natural colours of the strap in a harmonised green colour. The surface is micro-blasted and then polished – and will stay this way: The ceramic is scratch-resistant and inalterable. The flange and small-seconds at 3 o'clock are coated with lacquer in perfect harmony with the bezel. Moreover, this new Big Bang is a pure skeleton creation. It reveals the mechanism of its Manufacture calibre Unico (3 days of power reserve). At 6 o'clock, we find the iconic column wheel. All around the movement, the date disc is embossed with extreme precision so that each day passes through a specially designed cut-out at the heart of the small-seconds without losing any of its geometry or harmony. The watch comes with a second strap featuring a Velcro® attachment. LATEST NEWS SQUARE BANG TOURBILLON 4-DAY POWER RESERVE: THE SQUARE BANG ADDS A WHOLE NEW DIMENSION TO THE TOURBILLON Nyon, Switzerland, 22nd of May 2025 - Why are watches round? Because their most basic component – the wheel – is round. It's as simple as that. Perhaps too simple for Hublot, though, who was certainly not going to build the future of Haute Horlogerie on conventions from the past. learn more HUBLOT REINVENTS ITS MP-10 TOURBILLON WITH TWO NEW CASES IN SAPPHIRE AND BLACK CERAMIC Nyon, Switzerland, 7th May 2025 - Three years. This is how long it has taken to construct and deliver the first 50 pieces of the original MP-10 Tourbillon. Three years in which this veritable watchmaking UFO has remained not only unsurpassed, but unrivalled. And with good reason: with no dial, no hands, and not even an oscillating weight, the piece boasts a roller display, a circular power reserve, and regulation via a tourbillon inclined at 35° with automatic winding by two linear weights. More than a watch, it is a manifesto which fuses the past, present and future of Haute Horology in a single piece: first, unique and different. learn more KEEP ME UPDATED I want to stay up to date with the latest Hublot news. sign up
